Can anybody tell me if the following prop will work on a RV8 with an O-360-A1A: McCauley 3-Blade Propeller - Removed from Piper Arrow,
Propeller Hub Model - C3D36C415-G
Blade Design - 82NGA-8
Propeller Hub Serial Number - 912659
Blade Serial Numbers - (1) L1375, (2) L1377, (3) L1381
Low Blade Angle - 10.9
High Blade Angle - 33.8

I think that prop would be a bit much to swing for that engine, plus the C at the start of the model of that propeller designates the mounting location on the crankshaft in relation to the blades, the 3 bladed propeller that is used on the Mooney with the O-360-A1A is a B3D. You can see that the starting letter is B which tells me that the mounting location is different for that model of engine so i would think that propeller would not work due to the possibilty of harmonic problems with blade timing.

Check into it very carefully because I know someone who put a Mccauley three blade on a RV7A and he had to do a good bit of cowling mods. I think they are great props and I believe he is happy with his, but it was a lot of work to mount. Sorry I do not know model data, but he has a fuel injected 200hp.

You might want to really think carefully before using one. From the FAA type data

they are very heavy, 73 lbs, which is 20lbs more than a Hartzell. That is alot of extra weight way out front.
