Due to limited space on the firewall, I have decided to mount the the two way traingular cabin heat valve inside the cowl cheek on my RV-3. When the cabin heat is turned off inside the cockpit, the heat will be on inside the cowl cheek. I am wondering how how this air gets? Should I mount a louver on the cheek to help the hot air exhaust out of the cheek?

Thanks,
Rob

Rob,

I PM'd you photos of my setup. Didn't think there was room on the firewall either, so I noodled it for a year. Use
1 1/2" scat and make your own box and it will fit fine. Feed hole on the back side of the baffle is 1 1/2" with half of it blocked off to slow the flow.
