Just reading ahead in the plans as I get ready to assemble the HS. I am wondering why the plans have you join the rear spars and doublers in the first step, then the last step has you finally assembling the HS-911 brackets and bearing. Don't you need to match drill the hinge bracket to the rear spar with a #12 drill bit? A test fit of the AN3 hardware with the spar and bracket is too tight. If I have to match drill after everything is assembled there is no way to deburr the interior of the doubler and spar holes.

With the 2 plates riveted together, I don't see where a burr could go...

I drilled mine afterward and did not have any problems.

Philippe is correct, no deburring is necessary there. Since the metal plates are so close, there shouldn't be any burrs between them.

Thanks for the info. I went ahead and match drilled prior to assembly. It can't hurt. I can see that the hand holding in the instructions has already tapered off on the second page of the instructions! ;)
