Hi all-
For those of you with manual trim, I'm curious if you routed the cable in a straight line from the trim lever upwards to the horizontal stab pass-through, or if you paralleled the rudder cables to the rear before curving up to the HS? Just called Vans but Scott is out of the office till Friday and their -4 was not available for inspection...
Thanks,
Eric

Straight cable routing

No one responding?

Ok. Here's how it was done by the previous builder on our RV-4: straight with a small curvature outside to the left horizontal rudder.
I can not comment on how good it works, as we have not flown yet.

Static tubes

I see another thing on that image... You should consider water in the static tubes... It's best if the tubes goes upward directly after the connection to the fuselage. So no water can flow into the tubes, and condensed water will flow out.

Thanks!

Two good answers from the European contingent! Thanks guys. I routed my trim approximately as shown in the pic, and have yet to do my static lines but appreciate the advice on water in the lines.
