I am using the manual aileron trim that VANS supplies in my -4. At normal cruise power the aileron trim system is quite capable of handling any fuel imbalances.
However, at full power, I presume due to torque effects, the trim is really not man enough to do the job.
I looked at the design and the reason is pretty obvious. The distance between where the springs attach and the point that the stick assembly swivels around is quite minimal, and I have found it quite difficult to get any significant offset. It appears to me that this is largely a function of the VANS design ion the -4. Is the problem familiar and anyone had success solving it?
