Anybody know where to get matching blue paint for an old lycoming? BTW, that darker blue splotch is Ford Engine Blue, obviously the wrong color.

I thought that Lycoming engines were Gray............

I suppose you can paint yours any color you want!

Lycoming built a bunch of engines for Cessna that were Blue. May have been some of the 76 Series Engines. (76 Series includes the O-320-H2AD engine)

Yep, like about 5+ years worth of Cessna production. The entire engine, cylinders and all were blue. It was a bit lighter blue than on the OP's photo.

The blue is simply a colour code to say you have nitrided cylinders.

That's the color stripe on the top of the cylinder fins, though...blue, yellow, none, etc.

I think he's talking about the whole engine...I always thought the "grey" Lycoming was kind of a bluish grey, as well.
