It seems that my TIO-540 engine needs to have a tear down and inspection because of low oil-ish pressure.

I am considering using Aircraft Engine Specialists in Chandler for the service simply because I live in AZ about a two hour drive from their shop.

Does anyone have any feedback from this company?

Additionally I will need to transport the engine to/from the shop and the usual way of transporting a flat engine is to lower it on an old tire in the back of my trailer and strap it down however I would like to transport it with the exhaust system installed because I would have them mount it on an engine test stand and do some runups before the teardown so hopefully they can find something simple that I missed.

Even if they need to tear it down I would like to have them do a full runup on it with the exhaust system and turbo installed so the trip back I would like to keep the exhaust system installed.

So?If I am going to transport it with the exhaust system installed I would need some kind of engine stand that will support the engine on the trailer.

Does anyone in Arizona (or nearby) happen to know of such a stand with the Lycoming Dynofocal engine mounts that I likewise can beg/borrow/steal???

THANKS!!!

Remove the exhaust?

Consider removing the exhaust for transport? Of all the jobs required to put it on a dyno, the exhaust R&R is pretty easy.

I would remove the exhaust. When I reamed the exhaust valves it was much easier with the exhaust off. It took less than 30 minutes to remove.
