On my Lightspeed Zulu. There seems to be an access cover where the mike mates with the left earpiece. Before I dig too much, does anyone know how to tighten up the friction on this thing???

Just a suggestion: Call Lightspeed and arrange to send it to them. They take good care of customers who need things fixed. I've owned 4 of their headsets and when I have needed something fixed that I croke, they have always given the headset a full lookover and taken care to address anything it needed.
 
Had the same issue a couple years ago and was advised there was no simple field repair option when I called Lightspeed. Their service did the trick nicely with a quick turn-around.

Hope that helps, somewhat at least.
