Hey everyone,

I wanted to get some ideas on where to get speakers for my RV-8. I had seen a while back that some people were putting speakers in the large hole of the angle support piece on the roll bar. Where are you guys getting these speakers? The hole is a 2" diameter hole. Thanks.

Computer speakers work well and you can easily find the right size.

A buddy of mine put speakers in is 8. He said if he had to do it over again, he would definitely not do it because they are hard to hear over the noise of the engine. Don't know how others feel who have done this, but I can see his point? Dave

I put a small computer speaker in the gear tower. I intended it to be used to contact ATIS/clearance delivery prior to engine start. It is useless when the engine is running. A good noise cancelling headset is needed.

Waste of time. You can't hear anything in an RV at cruise speeds.

As Ron said, on the ground before the engine is running it may work ok.
