I am looking for DAR references in the San Francisco area. I attempted to get my inspection through the Oakland FSDO and was told that they no longer do certification inspections, funding issues.

Dave Morss works out of SQL and will travel to the Bay Area airports. We're likely to use him later this year for DAR and also for first flight.

I guess I would take that to mean you don't need one if they don't have the capability to do it. Were you supposed to go to another FSDO that had money?

I used Justin Louw, a DAR working under the Oakland FSDO. I don't know if he's still doing it, but you can search the FAA Oakland FSDO for a directory of who the DARs are.

Any chance they can help you in the San Jose FSDO? They have done inspections in the past. Otherwise, Dave Morss is your best bet.

Danny McGehee

Danny McGehee is out of the Sacramento FSDO but can do inspections
in the Oakland district.
Most Oakland DARs will charge you in the neighborhood of $800 for your
final.
One DAR based on my home field KCCR charges $750.
Danny charged $450. I am sure they are all good guys. Danny is a retired
