We are looking for a builder who has their RV-12 on the gear and is also planning on wheel pants for their plane. In addition, we are looking for someone who would like to purchase (at a discounted price), a set of teflon brake hoses.

We are working on a new hose routing for those of you who have wheel pants and are considering gear leg fairings. Our current hose kit will work great for RVs without pants, but we are planning on modifying the kit for those who choose to use optional wheel pants/fairings. I have included a picture for reference of the current kit. In it, you can see where there might be an interference issue with wheel pants.

So, if you are interested in working with us to get the correct dimensions for the new hose kit for wheel pants, please contact me at [email protected]

Have a great day,
Steve

Hi Steve,

I ordered flexible brake hoses at BERINGER Aero http://www.beringer.fr
Lenght over all: 33" with fittings: AN818/819 4D
$ 170.- for both.

It works perfect with wheel pants.

Cheers,
Heiri

Heiri...,

Good info. You just took the extra hose and took the slack out in a different location.

That looks like it will work just fine with fairings and pants.

We may still look into the possibility of an angle fitting on the end of our hose at the caliper, but if it works as is we may not change it because angled fittings add to the cost.

Thanks
Steve

We have our volunteers for this project.

I'll keep everyone updated when we get the new brake lines made.

The standard lines for $89.95 will work both with and without wheel pants. However, we are going to see if we can't get a slightly closer conforming set of brake lines.

Have a great evening,
Steve

Things happening

We have several of these packages that are out, and a few completely by accident. Scott Schmidt and I did a package this past year, and it was the basis for all the other gear leg kits. Obviously, there are always improvements going on.

Nope---I didnt get launched into space, but have been out of town several days. (its COLD in VA) I'm working on several hose projects for the new year, some of which are being tested now. Its been a great year, an next will be better yet!!
