I am preparing to build an RV-8, I have a good selection of tools, and I have built the RV training project. The empennage purchase is still several months off (I know, I know - just do it...)

In the meanwhile, I'm looking for plans/suggestions/kits to use all these cool tools, and continue practicing cutting, dimpling, riveting etc.

I suppose I could make a lunch box.

Anybody have any thoughts or suggestions?

fiberglass

I'd get some fiberglass stuff, and start practicing with that. It sounds like you probably have the metal skills needed to get you going on the tail kit. Find some other builders in the area to see if they need some help!

RV-practice

Carter,

If you can get to Ft. Leavenworth, KS I can provide plenty of practice repairing my storm damaged RV-4!

Actually, I'd pick up Jeppensen's Airframe textbook and read up on certified systems. You may not do everything that way, but there is a wealth of information of how stuff CAN be set up.
