I am preparing to install the remote compass module in the wingtip of my -4. When I built the wings, I installed only one conduit. It currently holds the wire for the position light and the shielded cable for the strobe. My question is: Does anyone have any experience running both the strobe cable and the shielded remote compass cable in the same conduit? I know this is not recommended, but also know that with both cables being shielded, it may be ok. Dynon was unable to give me a definitive answer and I know of no easy way to run a second cable or conduit through the completed wing...

Thanks in advance for the help,

Dean

Sorry we didn't give you a definitive answer earlier. Running the cables in the same conduit shouldn't cause you any issues. The compass uses a differential communication system that is very robust against noise like that.

Use those shields, and only ground the shield for the remote compass on one end.
