If you were like me, I dreaded it for a month, then done it easily in 30 minutes.
Now you can worry until you put the tail on if you got the final rear bend correct, or will it poke in or out the side skins. Mine turned out to be a perfect fit!

Yes, your experience mirrored mine....I used a 10" machinist vise with 3/4" deep socket (no hammer) on the angle opening; and rubber mallet on curve adjust; about 15 min per side. Everything checked out with machinist angle checker....so am fingering tail will slip right on!!!!
