Dr. Henry Schirmer Riley died yesterday (April 19) at around 11AM when his Comanche 250 rolled inverted and dove straight into a field near Madison, Indiana. He was 81. Dr. Riley was a well known pilot who had traveled around the world in his plane several times. He had authored a book on his experiences and gave many talks about his flying. He was a good spokesman for general aviation. His Comanche was modified to be capable of 4000 mile flights, and he could be considered a highly capable pilot. He will be missed.
