When Klaus says to wire this thing straight to the battery posts, does
he really mean straight to the battery posts?? No ground block? No fuse?

Also, as long as we're here, what sort of connection are folks using on the Odyssey battery? It came with some little "L" brackets and bolts, so I assume its my choice to use them or just bolt straight into the battery.

Boy, it's hard to believe this little battery is gonna crank that big ol' motor.

Yep!

Seems they may be suceptable to noise and/or voltage spikes and connecting right to the battery is the best way to minimize this.

Get rid of the "L" brackets and connect to the battery.

Don't worry, these batteries work great!

I did put a fues inline with mine.

But it is always hot off of the battery.

Yes, you want the power lead to bypass your normal bus. I installed a battery bus next to the battery and connected my EI, as well as my clock circuit from the EFIS to the bus and used blade fuses to protect the circuits.
