I took all the fairings and pants off the gear over the weekend to give me better access for polishing the underside of the fuel tank/wing and noticed that -- because the gear leg fairing "floats" between the intersection fairings, it had rubbed the electrical tape through that's used to hold the brake lines in place on the 7A model.

I intend to put the 3M tape on the gear leg to prevent it from chafing but what is a solution for keeping the fairing from rubbing through the electrical tape (which would have to go on top of the 3M tape)?

Bob,

I suggest trying some of the UHMV (heavy duty plastic tape used to protect the flaps from rubbing) tape. One piece on the fairing and another on top of the black electrical tape.
