Did anyone come away with a better understanding of LED for seeing with vs. being seen, where LEDs really shine. I couldn't get a very good feel for the LED output on the ceiling of the hangar in daylight. Unfortunately the ones that seemed to have the most lighting power (in one of the three units used by the industry...) and fit my installation, were not focussed for landing but wide spread for taxi-like conditions, or night crop dusting...

Also didn't see any working vendor displays for metal halide or halogen. My current PAR 36 $12 GE special is so useless I leave it off and am looking forward to seeing the runway for a change....

Which light really puts out the best night landing illumination per the latest information?
Thanks!!

"being seen"

Rik,

I have Aero LED's for strobes, nav and landing lights.

The recognition part is very good with the wig-wag and the strobes.

I get comments all the time on how bright they are.

I haven't flown at night with them, so I can't give you an accurate opinion on that, but my thinking is they will work well.

Regards,
