At Oshkosh, I heard a couple rumors from 2 different people (a vendor and a builder) that Garmin will be coming out with a larger EFIS display. I'd really like to have one unit the size of 2 of the current displays: 960 x 800 pixel resolution or so.

Garmin and GRT are the 2 options I've narrowed things down to. If the Garmin goes to a single large display, that would likely tip me over.

I know that dual displays can provide a partial backup, but I'll be using a completely different compact system as backup or maybe the iLevil and iPad.

Can anyone else expand on the rumors?

I for one would really like to see a bigger touch screen in the G3X, even the 796 shows the benefits using a touch screen.
Most manufactures do make changes based on customer input, if you agree send an email to [email protected]
 
I also vote for a large format touch screen display for the G3X!

I'm also looking at using an ilevil unit and an ipad mini as a backup system.

Hey, while we are asking, I want to use my 650 touch screen to set transponder codes on the GTX-23ES, rather than twist and punch of the G3X.

Just dreamin' . .
