The heater muff is about the last piece on my firewall forward and I would really like to put it on the larger pipe down stream and further back. My scat tubing would be much shorter and keep the area around the throttle body clear. I would also be using the heat from two cylinders rather than one.

My question is, is there a heater muff available for this location? Just having different end pieces for the standard muff might work as well.

The only issue I see is the exhaust mount being in the way...

I have the vetterman exhaust (Vans standard) and the 8-inch heat muffs fit the larger pipe fine (I think they are 1.75" diameter holes). I have a heat muff on each side (wife likes to be in control of her own heat...). Not flying yet, but these seem to be out of the way of most everything I have put down there so far, including the exhaust hangers.
