I'm installing a Catto 3 blade prop on my RV9. To keep my weight and balance where I want it I need to add 12# to the nose. My choices are to purchase a 15# crush plate from Saber or to use an 11.4# Landoll Harmonic Balancer which I already have. Aside from the obvious economic reason is there any other reason I should not use the Landoll balancer?

Put it on

I would put on the landoll, used both the Landoll and the sabre on my -7 with the 3 blade Catto to get the cg forward, combination works well.

Ditto. Used the Sabre 22 lb. crush plate and Landoll damper on my -7A with a Catto 3 blade. THe Catto 3 blade and Landoll make a super smooth solution. If you only need one the Landoll wins hands down IMHO. You'll love how smooth your airplane will be.
