After one month since first flight I finally have my plane problem free. Not that I had many of them: only two electric related issues, one being the copilot mike inoperative, the other being the A/P being AWOL. Given the complexity of my situation (finishing kit wired for D100 and avionics kit with Skyview) it was a pleasant surprise.
These two problems amounted to the following:
- The copilot mike socket had a contact lead inadequately bent, fixed be re-bending it right (required to remove the wing though)
- The power did not reach the A/P servos because a connector's pin carrying 12V was not locked in place
These problems forced me to learn how to use Autocad: a blessing!
As many other builders, I had to wait for about six months for my Skyview avionics kit and when VANs was answering to complains by saying that they wanted to do the job right, as many others I was thinking "yea, right...", but indeed, they were right and they did it right.
(it did not hurt that I did a great job following their instructions but I don't want to brag about it here :p)
