Does anyone here know what in the world the "audio out" function does on the KMD 150? Its assigned to Pin 33 & 36 on the D-Sub connector. Here's a shot of the connector schematic found in the install manual:

Here's what the install manual says about the message audio output:

Message Audio Output pin 36. This is an audio output capable of
driving 10MW into 600 ohms at 2KHz. This output is designed to interface
to the aircraft intercom."

Anyone have this hooked up? What does it do exactly?

Thanks!

Gil, Already did that. Problem is the manual really doesn't give any kind of description of what this does.

I'm thinking it might be a 2KHz tone in the headset that comes on any time the KMD has an "alarm" event. Guessing though...

We have the KMD150... The alarms are for: VNAV start, when your are XX miles from DEST, and off course. IMO it's worth hooking up.
