Hey guys,

This seems like a silly question...

I am looking at shelving to store the sheet metal and large parts of a RV14 while I am working on that assembly. I am wondering how big and how many I need to hold these parts. Do I need a 72" wide 2000lb limit shelving or would a 48" one work just as well.

Not Exactly WHat you asked but...

I stored my wing skins on my garage wall. I screwed an 8' 1x4 horizontally to some studs (i.e. it's 8 foot wide), then screwed another 1 x 4 to it only slightly higher creating a lip of sorts so that the skins can't slide out and come crashing to the floor. I held the tops of the skins in place with a couple bungee cords secured to studs with 2 eye hooks. I can store quite a few skins in this manner and they are kept completely out of the way.

Jim,

None of the parts have much mass so no need for heavy duty shelving. Get whatever fits best in your space. I've used cheapo Ikea shelving that works great. I even turned my fuselage crate into shelving
