A very poor cable/antenna with a low VSWR could easily cause a higher than usual transmit current. Find a local radio ham with a VSWR meter to check out your system.

Look for cable cross talk, bad connectors, etc. This is a must have tool for radio and nav cable/antenna installation. RONSIM Well Known Member Dec 9, 2018 #4 Had same problem, solved by getting rid of coils of excess sensor wires behind the panel. Shortened what I could and moved everything else away form my coax. Ron
