Question of the group.

Is a dippled joint which is held by a group of countersunk pop rivets more structurally sound than a non-dippled joint held by a group of low profile pop rivets? It would appear to me that the dimpled joint would have more shear strength? Is this correct?

YUP! There was a lengthy article somewhere about the technical details of the strength of a dimpled joint vs. not. The dimpled joint is much stronger. Maybe in an old rvator?

The nesting of the dimpled parts will add strength as mentioned. The tensile/shear strength of the rivets themselves however will depend on the particular rivets used.
