Those who are building RV8s take a look at this picture please. Do you put a doubler here? If yes what gage of aluminum? Any images would help.

Somebody overseas is building an 8 and he is asking me questions I don't know answers

Tell your friend to cut it out of the inspection plate that was provided for the inboard rib. It already has the correct hole pattern in it for the sender and is plenty strong. He will have to use a blank cover plate on the rib so that one is an extra anyway. Thats what I do.
