I have one of these that came off my Swift (long story).
The good: it is 160hp and set up for a Constant Speed Prop.
The not so good: it has a conical mount.
Some will argue that the Dynafocal mount is better and will not transmit as much engine vibration to the airframe. I asked someone at Vans tent (don't remember his name) a couple of Oshkosh's ago and they said lots were flying with conical mounts and that there was not that much difference. When I took it off of the Swift I thought it would be a good engine and prop combination to use on an RV6 but I never got around to building one.
The question is if Vans is making conical engine mounts for the RV9. Somewhere around here I have a circular from Lycoming that gives the details on the configuration of all their engines. If you need more information let me know and I will see if I can dig it up.
