Hi All. I have read all the posts on the issues regarding using a IO-360 (non-forward governor) on a RV-14 taildragger. I happen to own a freshly overhauled IO-360-A1A, which has the rear mounted governor. This engine was bought for another project and I would dearly love to use it for my 14 project.

I have read that it is completely impossible to use this engine on a A model and difficult to use on the taildragger. I know all the reasons not to do this. I know Vans designed the plane around the 390. The question is: has anyone actually done this, and for those who have (or at least deeply researched the issue), what were the issues? Any photos?

Buying a new 390 will set you back about 70K or more. I own this engine. Saving 70K is a powerful motivation to explore this issue. Thanks in advance
