Yesterday I flew from DWH, Houston to Georgetown,TX crossed the cold front it was really bumpy. Direct head wind of 24-35kts. Atis winds 300 @ 21 gusts 37. Landed 29 taxied and shut down with the nose into the wind. The AFS 4500's would NOT shut off. Tried 3 times before I called Advanced. Trevor tried and then discovered the wind speed still registering on the efis @ 25kts. (thinks for itself, plane still flying?) We blocked the pitot and everything shut down as normal. Oh yeah we did put the plane in a hanger.

Smart software guys - won't let you turn it off in the air. Of course, what happens if you WANT (need?) to do a reboot in the air? Is there a "three finger trick" for the AFS that you can use?

The G3X has a clever protection against the unit accidentally going into "DEMO" mode in flight. (You can wire up a switch to ground a pin that puts the system into "DEMO", so you can simulate flying around cool places and show off to friends...). If the system detects motion in excess of 30 knots, it will automatically prevent DEMO mode. Keeps an accidental switch bump from being a problem....if you install a demo switch...
