Chartis (ONE OF the insurers that offers coverage to RVers) send a press release to us aviation insurance brokers announcing changes to their light aircraft system that expands some coverages for experimentals.

It appears that they are lowering rates a little - which they adjust frequently to stay with their compeditors. They are also eliminating the increased deductibles and reduced liability limits for the Phase I period. Again, their compeditors already do this, so they are adjusting to better compete.

Your broker should be showing you all the insurers' quotes each year. Chartis is one of several. Looks like the market is still moving in the buyer's direction for the moment.

Being out of the airplane ownership arena for over 10yrs, I'm wondering what is current approx cost of liability only insurance for an RV-4?

How much liability coverage? Passengers or not? What ratings / certificates do you hold? How old are you?

It'll be a couple hundred bucks, but your specifics are needed to get a better answer. Comparing to what others tell you they pay doesn't mean much.
