I have an O-360 A1A that has the rear crank plug removed for use with a fixed pitch prop. I'm planning to use a constant speed prop, and need to install a new plug. I bought the plug, and the overhaul manual lists a part number for a tool to set it (don't have that number on me at the moment). My previous google search for the part number didn't turn up anything useful. Most of the threads I've found on here talk about techniques for removing it, but not installing it.

How have others installed the rear crankshaft plug? Is the tool readily available someplace? I was considering cutting a slot in a large socket to fit around the oil tube, then tapping it in place with a socket extension. Good idea/Bad idea?

Thanks!
