All,

Do I have to have tunnel tops, access panels and wing tips or anything removed for the final inspection by the FAA for the Airworthiness Certificate?

Thank you

I had to have everything opened up. Didn't remove the wing tips. My FSDO rep. really performed a thorough inspection. Actually found a tank mount bolt between two inspections that wasn't tight.

Talk to your inspector. Our FSDO guys don't even look at the plane. Mine was ready to fly when they came by. The guy didn't even have me power up the EFIS.

All he did was to make sure the paperwork was in order. It took less than 30 minutes to get my pink slip.

But then our EAA chapter has a really good relationship with the FSDO and their feeling is that if a plane gets past our Tech Inspectors, it is good to go.

Definitely ask the guy doing the inspection. I had all the covers, wingtips, etc. off and my DAR's first comment was that he was supposed to inspect the plane as ready to fly, so why are all the panels off?
