I'm just finishing up my tail kit. This weekend I hoped to roll the one remaining elevator leading edge, drill the elevator horns for the center pivot point, and get everything bolted in place all nice and clean. To this end, I picked up some assorted materials from Lowes, including 1/4" ID spacers which I'll cut to length for each side of the center bearing.

When I got home, I went out to the garage to check that the spacers were correct. I'd left the AN bolts from the kit in the bag they came in, which was supposed to contain a few different lengths of -3 bolts along with one 4-12 and one 4-14 bolt. I hadn't really paid a lot of attention to the contents of this bag before, so I was surprised when one of the supposed -4 bolt didn't fill the spacer.

Wait a second, all these bolts look the same size...where are my calipers?

Confirmed: they're -3 bolts. The spacer is absolutely the right size, the bolts are wrong. I guess that puts a hard limit on how much I'll get done this weekend...
