Several videos that are floating around taken from inside the cockpit during flights have sound from the intercom and comms without the engine noise. I'm interested in doing something like this and am wondering if there is some over the counter plug in device that will make it easily achieved?

Also there have been some creative ways to mount the cameras including small remote cameras in the vertical that plug into the camcorder in the cockpit. Any links, photos, advice, etc. appreciated. I'm not looking to rebuild the plane, just save some memories from the good ole days.

Thanks,

My video experiments

I'm struggling with the sound too, but I'm having pretty decent success with the video:

I'm going for more of a "what does it look like to the pilot" aspect rather than the "fixed onto the airplane" look. The little lipstick camera that I'm using retails for under $40.

Regarding sound, my idea was to put a small lapel microphone into the headset cup in order to capture engine, radio, and intercom sounds. I'm having trouble finding an external microphone that works with my camcorder, though.
