Ok, so I notice that CAT hose isn't exactly cheap. Question - (1) is it acceptable, (2) is it dumb but acceptable to use some alternative ducting inside the cabin?

The two things I'm considering for alternative ducting are a) duct from NACA vent to the eyeball vent, and b) running a duct from the central heater outlet to a defrost vent. The alternative I'm considering is the heat/defrost ducting used on VW's (50mm/2"). The VW stuff is around $7 per Yard. It is sort of a paper & foil material used in air cooled VW's for routing heat and defrost air.

Again, all of this is in the cabin, not forward of the firewall.

Bryan, maybe I don't understand.....

Van's sells 3 ft of 2" duct for this purpose for $7.50. This should be enough for both side vents.

The stuff Van sent with my vent kit still had the JC Whitney labels on it.

CAT hose isn't really needed...:)
