I did a trial fit after finishing up all my riveting and have some overlap between the elevator & horizontal stab. Somebody set my mind at ease please!

yes...

It is normal...you have to trim the HS to allow elevator clearance.

We all had that same feeling at that point...trim it and move along!

It's been a while since I did that but from what I remember It shows you on the drawing to remove that area as required.

Yes trim it. Its in the manual to trim as needed. OR you could rivet the two together and make a stabilator...just kidding. trim it you will be fine with it.
