Today, I was cutting the excess off the flange on HS-702. When I started the cut with the snips, I ended up fracturing the flange 1/8" perpendicular to the intended cut line. The blue line perpendicular to the flange cut is the small fracture. See photo:
So my fix was to "round the flange a lil more than required so the fracture would not end up being a crack later on in life. See photo:
Looking from the inside (regardless if I cut the flange to much), it doesn't look like there is enough edge distance for the rivet when the skin attaches at the intersection of HS-702 and the main rib, HS-405. The picture below shows the inside view of what the two pieces mated together would like. Am I sunk here? Did I cut to much off? Has this happened to others? Do I need a new front spar? Thanks in advance for all answers.
