I am in pushrod business. Discovered that F-839-2-PC doesn't accept respective rod end bearing. It looks like threads are contaminated with baked powder coating. Is there a trick to clear it other then retap?

In the trade its called "chasing threads" after painting, coating, etc. if the threaded hole was not masked beforehand. Run a tap through it slowly?lubricate as necessary but you probably won't have to.

If you do not have the correct tap for this, you can take a bolt with the correct threads and using a hack saw, cut 3 or 4 slots in the threads----like are in a tap----just a blade width is enough.

This will work just fine to chase a hole that is already threaded.
