I would like to ask those who have painted an 8, how much paint did they use to cover the aircraft? I am approaching the painting stage and I am thinking about surface areas and the amount of paint etc. Lets say I want to cover all of the surfaces (top and bottom) in white, how many pints / gallons of paint is needed to cover all the aircraft?

The base (white) on my '8' took 2 1/2 gallons. This was after about the same amount of primer/surfacer.

two gallons of a decent brand, i.e. one that covers well. I used a bit less, but it is not economical to buy in sub-gallon increments.
