Hi all,
I just crossed the 1,000 hours of build time mark for my 7 slider. Tail feathers are done except the tips and wings are done except the bottom skins and tips. The bottom of my tail cone and center fuse are riveted and I'm almost done fitting/fabricating all the angles/braces of the forward fuse.
I just started looking ahead at lead times for ordering the finishing kit (6-8 weeks) and realized for the first time that the order form wants all sorts of data about engine type and configuration to send the proper mount and cowels.
Well, I don't know what type of engine I want yet, and the money sure isn't there so do I have to wait and make these decisions BEFORE ordering the finish kit? Does anyone make their best guess at engine type and order the appropriate kit?
When is the "proper" time to order an engine? Same time as finish kit, or can I build out the finish kit and buy and engine when the money magically appears?
Thanks,
