Getting near Phase I on my 6A and doing some last checks of firewall forward. My Fuel fittings at the carb are close to a strut on the engine mount (1/8 - 1/4") I had assumed there was engine shake, but figured it couldn't move much back at the fulcrum (rubber mounts) It would seem all of the movement would be further out from the fulcrum at the front of the engine.

Does anyone know how much the engine can move in it's mounts at the rear of the engine?

I appreciate your input.

1/2" . . . maybe?

I am still building, so take that as a grain. I have read, and set up, my plenum clearance as 1/2" All four corners. I don't know any thing definitive. Also, the focalized mounts actually allow the engine to pivot in all directions from the focus, a point within the engine. So, assuming the engine does not move much close to the mounts is not a good assumption.

I would not allow just a 1/2" slack for a hose to the engine, because if it was taken up fully, then the forces would become very high. You probably already know that.
