Hey all:

I searched around the web for ideas on how to mount the microswitch for use with my Safety Trim. All I found were some pictures of one on an RV-10. Looks like the torque tube arrangement is different on a 7 or 9.

Anyway, I went ahead and mounted mine and wanted to share my experience.

First I bought a $2 surplus microswitch from my local surplus electronics supply house. Then I fashioned a bracket from a piece of angle. Here are the pix worth the thousand words:

I just pop riveted it in place. If I need to adjust it, I just bend the bracket a bit. There is enough compression left in the switch after it is depressed that the flap arm won't bend the bracket. Once I figured out where to mount it, the entire operation took maybe an hour.

It all seems to work well and yes, the screws that go through the switch need to be a tad longer.
