Gents,

I was messing around with my strobe system and noticed the tail light strobe unit getting very hot.

I am using a Nova strobe power (80 watt total) supply with the tips synchronized and the tail alternating with the tips. None of the strobes (tips/tail) were mounted, just connected to the wiring. With the strobes powered up the tip strobes got a little warm, but the tail strobe got very hot. Too hot to touch.

I believe the tips are splitting the output power but the tail strobe is getting full power possibly causing this noticeable and concerning increase in temperature.

The tip strobe bulbs are mounted very differently in their housing then the tail strobe. The tip bulbs aren't in contact with the base where as the tail strobe bulb appears to be very close if not touching the base. So it maybe that all tail strobes get very hot when in operation.

Any thoughts or observations?

Thanks,
