Hey All,

Finally went and picked up the kit from the seller. Great condition and great workmanship as advertised...

Now that I am back in my workshop I've determined where the previous builder left off and I am now working on attaching the flaps. Unfortunately when the flap hinges were attached to the flaps not enough thought was given to aileron alignment and the edge distance on the rivet row attaching the hinge to the wing. Has anyone had this issue? What are my options. I would rather not drill out the rivets on the flaps. I saw somewhere that I could attach a -4 hinge half to the -3 half attached to the flap in order to gain the proper edge distance. Has there been guidance from Van's on this? Suggestions?

Go with the -4 hinge on the wing

After I ended up a bit short on the wing side of the hinge, that's exactly what I did.

Yep! That's the recommended "fix".
