I mounted the Van's battery holder on the firewall (RV-8), and the plan sheet says the + lead is shown on the left / outboard - starboard side to keep that cable away from the ignition wires.

Is this to prevent electric noise from getting into the system?

This sheet also shows the master contactor directly over the starter relay with that relay upside down. They note that this will NOT allow the starter to engage under positive G. Personally can't think of a good reason to mount it that way if you could do it right side up instead. The engineers also said the DC-10 could never lose all three hydraulic systems at once.

So, any reason I should worry about the ignition wires, or can I run the cables the most logical/easiest route?
