Flying again!

I want to replace the stainless steel flex lines for the oil return with the Lycoming tubes. I found a catalog on line that shows the part number for the O-540 model A (68759 for cyl 1, 71737 for cyl 2, and 68761 for 3,4,5,& 6) and models B,C, D (72702 cyl 1, 72703 cyl 2, and 73027 for 3,4,5,& 6).

Unfortunately I cannot find the part number for the O-540 E model. Is it the same as the B, C, D models?

Also, instead of using the Lycoming hose I thought I saw suggestions to use silicon hose with a special clamp that applies even pressure around the hose instead of the normal hose clamp. Is it a good idea to use something other than the Lycoming parts for the hose and clamp?

Thanks for any help.

A, B, C, and D here refer to parts "groups". Check out page 44 here.

The E4B5 is group A for the drain-back tubes. This catalog agrees with the part numbers you cited for group A.
