... from aircraft to aircraft. It all depends on your balance. With a heavy nose, the tail can be quite a bit higher than one with a light nose. I have an O-360 with a fixed pitch prop in front, and my neighbor has a Renesis engine up front spinning a Cato prop. Forward of the c/g he is heavier, therefore the top of his tail rides higher.
