I have decided to mount my battery on the firewall and instead of removing the battery box from between the occupants legs I was going to route the heat through the firewall into it and use it as sort of a manifold. I figure that the heated air will be pressurized by being confined to the box and that would allow be to fabricate some light ducts to the inside of it and route the hot air toward my feet. I could also put vents on the front. The only drawback I can think of is if the heat on my RV-6 is as effective as the heat on my 172 the box may get way too hot to the touch Opinions?

The floors and lower firewall of RV's get warm anyway. Besides, when is the last time you flew in cold weather with your shoes and socks off? The RV-7 has a small box like what you are talking about so I don't see a problem with it.
