One of my next projects is to replace the plain-jane pitot on my 7 with a heated model.
Anyone have experience with the conversion?
Is there a conversion kit available?
Thanks,
Bob

It's not too hard

You can get the Gretz pitot mast and then your choice of heated pitot tubes, such as Dynon or Falcon or Gretz, all at Spruce and other suppliers. Here's the mast from Spruce as an example:

It's not too hard to do. I find the hardest part is running the wires (and AOA tubing if using the Dynon AOA tube)in a now-closed-up wing while laying on your back.

Shameless plug - I have a regulated heated Gretz pitot for sale in the classifieds. :)

I have installed them in the last bay of the wing so you can pull off the wingtip and work from a chair. That's by far the easiest way to do it. Then you just need to get your pitot line extended from the stock location to the outboard bay.
